We are pre-empting our “regular” comic schedule for a very special… er, comic.

As you may know, the two Korean-American journalists that were being held by North Korea were pardoned after a “private trip” by Bill Clinton to visit North Korea, in an effort to secure their release.  All told, the two spent 140 days in captivity after being charged with entering the country illegally to conduct a smear campaign.

President Clinton’s trip has been described as a “private” mission to free the two journalists – one that he took on his own, and not one that carried with it any message from President Obama.

But we know better!  Oh, certainly we do.  We have secured a transcript of the phone call between President Obama and President Clinton, the call which very likely sent our former President on his way to Pyongyang.

One thing is certain:  President Obama certainly knows how to motivate.

(In the interest of full disclosure, this comic was entirely the brainchild of Spencer – I wish I could take credit for it, but this comic arrived in my inbox as a total but awesome surprise.)

Yes, I know Obama didn’t ask Bill to go, that it was Al Gore, and blah, blah, blah, but c’mon!  It was funnier this way wasn’t it?  Also, thank you to Google Image search for the photo references.

I didn’t get to speak much with Dan about doing this, but as soon as I heard that Clinton went off to rescue those two reporters, I knew what had to be done.
